Spring Is In The Air

This photo inspired me to use soft elements but many of them in layers.  Sometimes I keep it simple with the embellishments but in this layout I went for it.  I love the layered leaves best.  I used one of Tim Holtz Dies, but you could use another die-cut or punch for the same effect.

Using Your Stamps In Layouts

Stamping on your favorite medium provides great texture in your layouts.

A fun colorful layout using Basic Grey papers and Tim Holtz stamps and ink.  The raw graphic result of the stamping also matches well with the theme in the photo from the Stockholm Art Festival.

I had a challenge to do a layout with only one paper. I chose one of my favorites from Bo-Bunny   I thought it was going to be very difficult because I LOVE to use a lot of paper in my layouts, especially layering but in the end I was happy with the result.  I used Tim Holtz stamps and his ranger distress inks.  I also used a mask along the side with glimmer mist in a dark gold.
The title could have been stamps but I wanted to use my Making Memories, and Pink Paisley Rub-ons I had on hand.  I scratched the rub-ons with my new favorite Norwegian designed ergonomic tool.  (more on that in another post). Overlapping them in 2 colors to created more interest.  I also scratched the edges of the photo to create a bit of a visual mat that also works well with the theme of the photo.

Quick and Simple Layouts

It is fun to work with smaller pictures and it does not need to be complicated at all.  Use your favorite scraps of pattern paper and a few embellishments, rub-on or stamps and a little ribbon.

Double Layouts with Die-Cuts

I do have flower dies, however here I used the double pack of mini flower punches from EK Success.  I love them because they fold flat and punch out any little scrap right at your fingertips.
